cat litter is AMAZING. Seriously, when my old 17 year old cat suddenly starts using the litter box even when there's no clean place to pee, this thing works! It may not appeal to all cats, but if it works for my old man, who has been driving me crazy for years with his pee on the carpet, long curtains, and any clothes left on the floor - socks, shoes - then I know that it will work for a large number of aging cats. I collected all my rugs many years ago and planned on removing the rest of the rug at some point. I have six cats ranging in age from 9 to 17 and they all love this litter. You don't want to leave the tray. With six cats I have installed several litter boxes and this is the most popular. It's more expensive, but so is the carpet! So I can only switch to these. I almost cried the first time I saw my Simon pee in this tray the day I put him in the tray. Today, after being away for several days for Thanksgiving, I found that the tray was glued to the Attract and needed cleaning and updating. However, Simon went there and peed in the box without even the filler covering it up! The only real downside I see is that it's hard to scoop if left for a very long time. Some say it becomes almost like cement. My Teflon metal spoon I just bought was immediately filled with a sticky residue so it doesn't work very well except with fresh scoops. I use a flat metal shovel to scrape the sticky debris off the floor. Despite this issue, the litter is worth any hassle as it seems my 17 year old cat has stopped peeing and pooping on the carpet! I wish I had discovered this when I first moved into this house (with fairly new carpet) six months ago! If you're tired of tidying up your carpet and other clutter and like me pulling your hair out, this litter is definitely worth a try!
