Daytime video quality is the same as most DVRs I've used. Quality is abysmal at night, largely because this camera doesn't handle glare from light sources well. The light from this source looks four or five times larger than it really is. You'll also see excessive video compression resulting in severe distortion, especially (but not limited to) night shots. The touchscreen is responsive, but it may take a few taps to do what you want to do. It would also be nice if you could dim the screen at night, as it is often too bright. Perhaps the bars/light level indicators on the sides of the screen are bars that you can gently press while recording to dim the brightness? The video quality on the screen is pretty bad. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep the camera.
