I wanted to love this lens as I have a 35mm f/1.4 piece of art and only have positive things to say about this lens. I thought the 85mm 1.4 art would be the same, just in portrait mode. I don't care about weight. Weight gives me a sense of quality. But nicely put together. Autofocus - Canine. I kept missing on my D800. I've tried fine-tuning the autofocus in the camera, but the results aren't stable. I'm afraid the lens only needs to be calibrated by Sigma. I'm not doing this in hopes of getting a clean copy. I use the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 Sport. Covers the whole focal length range and hopefully there are no problems with that. If the 70-200 has such autofocus problems (which I doubt) I'll just take Nikon lenses and pay extra. Where lenses are known to have AF issues, Sigma must provide docking hubs with each order. I might think I could play with this if I had the chance, but if I have to pay $60 I'll just save up and buy a used copy of the Nikon versions.
