Ideal for trying out contactless pedals!

Note: I can't say much about the durability as I've only had these pedals for about a month. During that time I drove them about 200 miles. I had a pair of caps on my bike, but I've always been interested in clipless pedals. Still, I wanted to be able to hop on my bike and go shopping without worrying about what shoes I was wearing. These combo pedals were a good decision. I knew I wanted to try combo pedals but a set of Shimano combo pedals was $80-100. I didn't want to invest that much money into something I might not like, so I decided to give these a try. They are easy to install, I prefer an allen wrench over a pedal wrench. They turn well and feel good to drive. The flat side fits my tennis shoes well, I had no problems with slipping. They're narrower than most flat pedals, but taller, so they're very stable. It's very easy to put on and take off once you've adjusted the tension to your liking. Once you get used to the pedals, it's easy to find and engage the right side, and I had no trouble disengaging when I needed to stop. I removed the star when the trim on the clips began chipping almost immediately, but it doesn't seem to have harmed them yet. Time will tell about durability, but for the price I'm very satisfied. This is perfect for those who want to try clip-free without much commitment or investment. -- Edit -- The durability question has been answered. And it's not very long. About 2 weeks after this article was written, with normal use, the left pedal began having a click with each revolution, along with increased resistance. I tried taking the pedals apart and repacking them in grease, which helped on the next ride. Unfortunately, the clicking and dragging returned afterwards. Another, more thorough cleaning/repackaging gave the same result. I liked the no-touch pedals, so I ordered a set of cheaper Shimano non-combo pedals. When I replaced them, they hadn't completely failed me, but I didn't want to risk being stranded.
