They're pretty bad. Even in the lowest clamping position, they didn't release my shoes. (Luckily I put them on my recumbent trike and not my bike, otherwise I would definitely have fallen). I couldn't figure it out until I ran my finger over the tip holding parts. The workmanship is terrible! Note: I can't say much about the durability as I've only had these pedals for about a month. During that time I drove them about 200 miles. I had a pair of caps on my bike, but I've always been interested in clipless pedals. Still, I wanted to be able to hop on my bike and go shopping without worrying about what shoes I was wearing.
