I live in Houston which was badly hit by Hurricane Harvey. Although the hurricane was long gone, many buildings were wet and some were even damaged. This becomes a problem when you want to buy a surprising amount of stuff. For example houses, office rentals and used cars. Knowing how humid the air is in an area can indicate that there have been problems in the past. I'm not talking about main living areas, I'm talking about utility rooms, closets, sheds, basements, car trunks and other places that need to be dry and don't need a lot of air circulation. They can't penetrate walls and look for mold or mildew, but moisture can be an indicator. You must of course create a baseline for comparison by getting readings from nearby areas that are "known to be fine". useful for providing "peace of mind" by letting me know the humidity level of the air in a certain area. I found the device easy to understand and use and have much more peace of mind after using it.
