Review on Dorman 748-512 Rear Driver Side Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly for Honda Models: A Reliable Solution by Ryan Marx

Unfortunately this part only lasted 2 years as per others experience. Year old Honda riders for whom this part is a replacement have been known to have problems with window adjusters so I expected the replacement part to be in some way better than the original. It doesn't seem to be. In fact, it seems a little worse since it only lasted 2 years. This is the fourth regulator I've had to replace, so I'm wondering if there are others around the corner. The time will show. go back. Upon inspection, the spool holding the cable snapped in the door and got stuck in the window. I had to take the door apart to diagnose the problem and detach the regulator from the window to open the window again. Then reassemble until I get a replacement. While this repair doesn't take long, 45 minutes to 1 hour, you'll have to do it twice every time it breaks. Once a part broke to fix a window and another time to replace a broken one which is not ideal. And to think I do this every two years if the next one breaks. Too bad. Luckily, Dorman honored his warranty. You will need to call Dorman with your Revain order number and the rest of the return will be handled through Revain. While I'm grateful that Dorman honored the warranty, I wish they were more proactive in finding a replacement. I had to order a replacement part myself from Revain before my return was processed to expedite the window repair. If I didn't, they said the turnaround time for a new part would be much longer. It would be nice if Dorman would take the initiative to fix this asap and just send me an expedited replacement right away or have Revane send one. I understand that there are some complications with Revane being a returned "middleman", but it is Dorman's choice to do so and it is their product that is causing the problem. I remove the stars mainly because that part doesn't really matter. better than the failed component it needs to replace and possibly worse in terms of durability. It still gets 3 stars because Dorman honored the warranty, but they could have done better by sending a replacement part ASAP. If I need to replace another one I will update this review with fewer stars.
