I have a mid-century modern Chinese lamp with a ceramic base from the 1950s that my cats kept knocking over and cracking in places; It was only a matter of time before they broke it to the point where it couldn't be repaired. Quakehold to the rescue! Now it's securely mounted on the black lacquered sideboard and the cats haven't moved an inch! I had to remove the felt pad from the bottom of the lamp to attach it firmly to the sideboard. I haven't tried taking it from the buffet, so I have no idea if it will leave a mark.
