Exact replacement! Shift cable replaced without removing the drive!

Excellent replacement product! I recently rented a wet slipway from a nearby military lake and my boat has been on the wet slipway for about a month now. After returning from an afternoon on the lake with the kids, for some reason I left the trim all the way up when mooring my boat (probably just out of habit as I always trim to tow my boat). In short, two days later the head of the military recreation center called me and said that the engine compartment of my boat was flooded and the boat was taking water! I rushed to the lake and was soon able to hitch up my boat and take it home. After investigating the leak for several hours, I found it in a dry, rotted shifter cable boot. It's hard to believe that small tears in the rubber boot have caused my boot to absorb so much water in such a short time. Luckily I was able to replace the shifter cable despite many "experts" saying it wasn't possible. roars itself WITHOUT removing the external drive. I did this by disconnecting the end of the shifter cable from the motor assembly mounting bracket. Then I tied a piece of twine to the end of the shifter cable to properly route the cable through the transom and engine compartment. There wasn't much room to get the job done without removing the source drive. But since I was sure that all my other bellows, seals and gimbals were in good condition (serviced last season when I removed the downforce), I decided to give it a try. By using the elastic cords to tie the handlebars on the port side, there is enough room to install the new shifter cable boot! When installing new bellows, be sure to use bellows adhesive!
