Great inverter!

I am very impressed with this inverter and its design. Here are some of my observations: The fuse holder and 5-15R sockets have circuit boards on the back of the terminals to connect them to the wire instead of soldering the wires directly to the terminals, a very nice touch! Ground is connected to battery and chassis negative, but neutral is not connected to ground (more on that later). On the board they use silicone to fix the LC filter on the board so it doesn't rattle. The FETs and diodes in the inverter use real heatsinks instead of being thermally connected to the case, which is a good thing as the case stays cool while the components are cooled. I checked the output waveform on an oscilloscope: it's a 60Hz sine wave with minimal output voltage ripple, so the low-pass filter is properly sized. The input and output capacitors are rated at 105Β°C and the high and low voltage circuits on the PCB are isolated with isolation slots cut on the PCB. Overall, the inverter is very well constructed and of decent quality. I found a few improvements they could make as well, firstly they could thermostatically control the fan so it only turns on when the inverter gets hot as it runs all the time and never turns off. Another suggestion is to make the inverter single phase 120v instead of two phase 120v (for the uninitiated this means using 1 120v rail instead of 2 60v rails which are 180 degrees out of phase). Also, I'd like to see higher voltage input capacitors only rated for 16V on the DC input bus, which an automotive alternator can easily exceed at low temperatures. I would like to use 25V capacitors instead Q. I am very happy with this product and would like to see cheaper inverters on the market design their products to these standards. Great job Bestie!
