I like to use nylon brushes for descaling, removing old paint and the like. However, I found it too easy to overdo it with this tool, it can work with 1.5 inch brushes. In this case, the tool will stop and you must release it, and then release the handle and press again. That last part is a real pain because it also has a safety lever to get it out of the way. If it was like an air tool where you move it away from the surface material and restart then it would be a great tool. If it stops but starts again as soon as the pressure is released, it wouldn't matter if it stopped but then started again when you released the pressure.
