Lamp arrived in perfect condition and we were delighted. A few days after installation, we woke up to find the glass ball had detached from the base and fallen down. The lamp is shaped so that nothing can touch the bulb and cause an electric shock. It looks like the bulb snapped off right at the base and fell onto the bowl that was below us without breaking. I've used similar bulbs from other companies for years and never had this problem.
