Great tool for your pocket (see details). Recommended

If you're the type of person who NEEDS an IDE and SATA to USB adapter, chances are you already have one (or more) up in your den somewhere. I know that. The difference with the FIDECO USB 3.0 Universal Hard Drive Adapter Cable is that it is USB 3.2 Gen 1 while my other adapters are USB 2.0. This is important because almost all SATA drives and almost all 40 and 44 pin IDE drives can saturate 40MB/s of USB 2.0 bandwidth. I tried the device on a stack of old hard drives and it worked with all of them - including some VelociRaptor 300s that don't fit in a "normal" dock (because the connectors are in a non-standard position on the back). of the drive/heatsink The power button is a big plus as it provides a better margin of safety when plugging/unplugging IDE drives.

Pros
  • Pulg & Play: Plug and play and hot-swap support, on/off switch to protect the hard drives. Tips: Some IDE hard drives are obsolete, you need to put a jumper to enable the drive (set master drive and slave drive).
Cons
  • May Damage
