Review on 📼 Maxell 290058 VHS Cleaner Dry: Powerful Solution for Spotless Video Playback by Major Callaham

I'm giving this product one star because it doesn't suit me. I recently purchased a TerraTec G3 Video Digitizer with Scart connector, USB 2.0 interface for PC, PAL, NTSC, SECAM video standards for Mac and Windows. Convert all my old VHS videos to digital format. This product connects to the video output of your VCR, communicates with your computer via USB and records. I don't have my own VCR anymore so I had to borrow one from a friend. I wanted to use this cleaner to make sure my friend's VCR was in tip-top shape for the conversion. Remember, for all intents and purposes, I haven't touched a VHS or VHS player for almost as long as DVDs have become popular. That being said, I put this cleaner in my VCR every which way I could, but I couldn't get it to play. I tried playing it, fast forward and rewind. and then play again. The spools just wouldn't turn. Luckily, the VCR my friend gave me to borrow was a ridiculously good device to pair with his home theater back when VHS was still in common use. It just didn't need to be cleaned. I seem to remember that some VCRs might be "self-cleaning". I could just make it up, but maybe this cleaner won't work with a self-cleaning VCR? Anyone know anything about this?
