Most of the year I run with light Feetures, Bolega or similar socks. First of all, I find it important that these socks are quite light, but a bit heavier than pure summer running socks. That being said, I've found that I like these mid-weight running socks for cooler weather, especially trail running. They're a great buffer between running socks and weather that calls for wool. Now that I'm old enough that my feet can actually get cold (never a problem before 40), I wear these socks when the weather dips below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I like wearing GTX shoes below freezing and sometimes switch to thick wool in this temperature, but with ankle protection I think they can replace this option for me except on snowy days. Fit: I can't say anything about the fit. but they fit great on my feet which fit in normal shoes with a width of 10.5 to 11.5. About the style: My friend who recommended these socks to me claims that the styles are slightly different and the random zebra stripes(?) I bought may be a bit thinner. I find that at least this style really hugs the midfoot more than other running socks and feels almost therapeutic. I'm pretty sure it won't cure your plantar fasciitis, but it's really nice (soothing? cozy?) and adds good sensory feedback. Happy trails!
