This was a great starter kit that made a delicious Ginger Ale soda. It's a bit pricey to keep on a shelf, but I think it's a great introduction to the world of home brewing and sodas. Once you get comfortable with the process, you can create your own ingredients for a lot less. I think this will be a great family activity and a wonderful science experiment that kids will really enjoy. There are so many great tutorials here! For example the importance of proper disinfection, chemical reactions and fermentation, kitchen safety and more. An important note: Before starting work, make sure that your workplace, bottles and caps, utensils and hands are disinfected. While some people have a penchant for how they like ginger ale, a contaminated batch will leave you with a bad-tasting soda that no one will like.
