Has Vitamix tried to cut costs and stay the same?

Hmm I had a black 5200 about 7 years ago. My ex still has it so I bought it off Amazon. I've only used it once so far so I'll update this post after a few more uses, but I have to say that something has changed. Works fine but I'm worried something has changed since I remember my other block was stronger than this one. Also, the platter is definitely a different component as it's not as smooth. It feels a bit restrictive and the finish is absolutely not how I remember it. My old dial turned smoothly and with the right amount of resistance. I don't know if all 5200s are the same or maybe year of manufacture but someone at Vitamix might know of a parts supplier or modification and everyone might have a finger on their chin and that's whoops. a few more things but hopefully Vitamix will aim for quality and be happy with current earnings, cost cutting could have unintended consequences and open the door for competitors to continue expanding this category. Maybe someone at Vitamix has some answers for future buyers, but I'm a little worried about the price. I posted the photo so people don't think I'm just some kind of critic. I would give it 3 or 4 stars if the price was $150 cheaper to make up for the cheaper components, which I think was the best decision made by Vitamix management. And if the Vitamix is different, it's best to contact your quality department. 'Cause I bet it's one of them.
