Review on ๐Ÿญ Nostalgia Classic Retro Countertop Cotton Candy Maker - Hard and Sugar Free, Aqua - Includes 2 Reusable Cones and Scoop by James Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Delicious, fun, easy to use but no cotton candy.

Ordered two so every grandchild has one. It seemed a little overwhelming when looking at the instructions, but once we put everything together and got the hang of it, we have the ball. It's better than buying a bag of cotton candy at the store. The difference between ready and fresh is hard to beat. One of the secrets to success is to let it warm up like the instructions say. A 15 minute preheat will yield even better results than the recommended 10. Even if you're going straight from cone to cone, a minute or two of preheating between batches will improve results. This expels a stream of melted sugar, which collects around the seam between the lower and upper bowls. It looks like a cool caramel rainbow when you break it. The taste is good too. We decided to grind it up into crumbs and run it through the machine like we would use hard candy and it turned out to be a great fluffy batch. The grandson calls it a "complex blend" and says it's his favorite flavor. You'll want to take it apart and wash it every once in a while as sugar build-up hinders how easy it is to roll the sugar net onto the cone, but we made 30 or more before it became a problem. The secret to success is to let the net build up a bit before catching it with the cone, and then just flip it around until it's done. You need to spin it fast enough and hold it high enough so that the web doesn't fall onto the heating element. I give it a 10. Easy to use, fun, easy to clean and delicious candy. We used Cotton Candy Express Sugar Thread. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MACHINE DOES NOT SUPPLY SUGAR FOR THREAD. Be sure and order them when ordering a car to avoid disappointment.
