Review on πŸ”Œ UPWADE Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector with 4 Smart USB Charging Ports (Total 5V 4.2A Output), 5ft Cord, and Multi-Port USB Wall Charger Desktop Hub - Portable Travel Charging Station by Ronnie Staver

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Useful for international travel - Dual voltage support - Good cord length - A bit pricey

Received this earlier this year (2017) on a business trip to the UK. For $16 I still feel like it could be cheaper. [Nevertheless, at the same time I bought a Philips to see what I would buy for $9 - Philips had built in a surge protector and it turned out to be VERY different on another use case - it really was a HOME travel surge protector , no international standard power strip ie only a single 120v cord and also only a 10 inch cord making it much less useful, there is no international travel for Philips] What I like: First, it's two tensions . This is important - UK at 240 volts 50Hz. Unless your unit is a two volt unit then I don't think it can be called a "tourist" splitter (unless you define tourist as home) .Secondly, the cable is quietly long and not bulky, so overall it's lighter and more functional. Oftentimes, the outlet isn't near the table, so that gives you extra flexibility. As for USB, I can't say it's both convenient and is also functional, but my phone appreciates Quick Charge-enabled chargers for quick top-ups. Yes it has a higher charge current than normal but in this case I just plugged in my dual voltage QC v2 charger and used it. Ideal for tablets etc that may need power but don't support quality control. If they ever come out with a new version with QC 2 or QC 3 built in, it wouldn't be difficult at all to pick it up. Overall, it's durable, portable, functional, and very useful when you're on the go. I always travel with multiple devices, it helps a lot.
