The straps are longer for a smaller person, but this allows me to carry it over my shoulder and attach my car's seat belt to it without affecting my pet's comfort. Also the structure of this bag is great! It's soft yet durable so it won't fall on your pet like others have described. It doesn't draw much attention, which I prefer - it looks like it could be a work or travel bag. My dog who is currently 5 pounds fits comfortably when I carry him and when I put my bag on the passenger seat. This is our new versatile bag! I give 9/10 because the straps are a bit bigger but it's a great well made bag at a very good price.
