I don't think they are very good for rock painting. Maybe they are too sharp, but even trying to circle them in the stencil didn't work. I already had a base coat of acrylic paint on the stone and it just didn't work. I will use them for other purposes like my coloring books but I originally bought them to write on my cave paintings and it was a failure. Still a good bag with a good quality zip and enough space to store a second pack of spare cartridges in the side mesh pocket. Luckily the mesh pocket is more centered than outside where things can spill out, if you forget to zip up. As another reviewer said, the lid actually makes an audible click.
