"I recommend this detector to anyone who wants to buy it. "

I've been using this detector for about 9 months now and have become quite an active supporter. I recommend this detector to everyone in the market to buy it. I went down a hill within the first week I had it. My speed was 75 and the limit was 50. In my state, this would have easily exceeded a $200+ fine, but my speed camera detector was able to give me enough warning to slow down even though the cop had just turned his on Radar. 0.8/10 for an alarm that plays. I've found that at full volume your music can start to drown them out; However, the detector is still audible with high volume music. At 85 dB it started to close and at 100 dB it was barely audible. The warning also seems to get distorted as the detector heats up, this doesn't affect usability but sounds strange. 10/10 for ability to detect radar guns. In a rare encounter with a police officer who has an X-band radar, I was able to locate him at a very long range in a hilly area. I had about 1-3 minutes to prepare. As for the K-band, the longest distance I've recorded is 4 miles. In this case, there is a device in the work area that shows your speed. As soon as I reach the top of a hill 4 miles away I can faintly make out the K band. I have nothing to report on the Ka group. Most cops use this bracelet and it's the one I come across the most. With rare exceptions, the police do not leave the radar on, but turn it on when necessary. Every time this happens, I get enough warnings to slow the car before the office can get an accurate reading of my speed. 10/10 if the beep matches the rhythm of my music. The satisfaction I get from these not-so-rare occurrences is about 5/10 false positives. The radar detector has 3 modes: Highway, City and Auto. I found that switching modes doesn't make much of a difference. This detector is extremely sensitive, and while it helps locate officers, it can become quite a nuisance. I found a lot of use in the mute button. Overall I rate this metal detector a 9/10. False positives can be a bit annoying, but when it comes down to it I'd rather it tell me something's there when it's not there than the other way around.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • So-so
