The first thing to understand is that this spool of tape is about the size of a large platter. Nothing that would fit in a normal tool box. But that's actually an advantage, I can't even begin to tell you how many roulettes I've lost at work. You will NOT lose this one, it's big enough to follow you alone. The way the cranks and crank are arranged is ergonomic and easy to use, and since the band isn't in the spring housing, you don't have to worry as much about dirt and debris getting in and jamming everything. It feels like it should last a long time and take some abuse.
