Review on πŸ”‘ Convenient Chamberlain 956EV Keychain Remote Control for Garage - 1 Pack by Eder Boesel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as it should but could be more durable

I like the security of a small remote control rather than an oversized one that has to be left in the car or if I program the appropriate unlock code into the emitter factory fitted in the car . However, living in my pocket for most of your life can (obviously) be a pretty tough life. I am my second remote control; The first lasted about 5 years before finally being bitten large. During this time, the removed case wore and broke where the key ring was attached, forcing me to switch to one of the remaining "hinges". That didn't last long though, as they also broke down and disintegrated over time. At this point, the first stopped being a "jewel" and began life as a "pocket" remote control until its electronics finally gave it life. In the meantime I picked up a second one, maybe a year or so before the first block finally fell apart. This second remote lived strictly as a "pocket device", usually in the breast pocket of a jacket or in a shirt pocket (if one) with a shirt. It's worn better over the past two or so years that I've used it. So when it finally comes time to replace my wife's original, factory-designed, egg-shaped Chamberlain key fob β€” which obviously lives in a purse β€” there's so much more. Babysitting is easier - I've also ordered one of those new rectangular units for her (which is actually the reason for this review). In the short time she's been using it, she's fallen in love with it, citing that it's far more ergonomic than the old design ever was. Also, this model has far fewer accidental "openings" in his handbag than the original with raised buttons. Programming the remote control code into the garage door opener was easy; The instructions that came with the remote control were clear and easy to follow. The only real downside I have is the cost, which I consider average. A few years ago I paid about $22 with taxes for my first locally bought one. I bought my second one here at Revain for just under $30. After 2.5 years the price has dropped about $2 here on the site so it's a better deal in that regard than the replacement I got in 2017 but still more expensive than the first even with inflation for those Time. Aftermarket alternatives are also hot right now, so there are cheaper options in the game too. Ours is the old Chamberlain opener without the myQ interface, although of course with this one there is a smartphone app in play which I think is FREE (although you have all the parts of myQ and of course you have to buy them for the app to work ). In the end, the 956EV does its job well. So far my second example hasn't shown as much wear and degradation as the first block did when it was on my keychain. Besides, I like the whole thing. 4 stars.
