Awesome Remote Control

Let's debunk the distance issue first. I think it depends on what unit you have. I have 2 FLIRC IR receivers connected to a Chromebox and a laptop. The keys are perfectly programmable to my liking and the spacing is fantastic. Not only does it have a long range wherever I stand, it also has an amazing IR range. Usually you have to point the remote control at the receiver to start the transmission. However, I can put it face down on the sofa behind my back and still have perfect functionality. Of course, if I hide the remote control completely or close the front, it doesn't work. Given that it works better than any other remote of this type I've used, I can't recommend it highly enough. It is perfect for using Kodi/XBMC. Haven't tested this on an XBox direct receiver but what I have is great. It's small enough to fit your entire arm, and it's fairly light (although you don't feel like you're going to break it). All pointless buttons are gone. (Most newer units don't need number keys or a DVD player switch) I have a few minor complaints that prevent it from being great. 1) No backlight. However, the keys are colored bright enough to be visible in low light conditions. 2) The bright green light on the front does not work. It only flashes when pressed and that's it. I don't fully understand this feature, but at least it lets me know it works. It can be smaller or lighten the entire site. It feels like it's just there. For the price (about $12) it's a steal. Take it, try it and enjoy!
