Very good template set. They're great for decorating toddler overalls or t-shirts, I've also used them for mini bags. My nieces and nephews aged 2 to 8 enjoyed drawing on paper with them. Although the stencils are thin, flexible plastic, I've had them for about a year now and many of them have been used multiple times, but none are torn or worn. Many images are included with dinosaurs, sea creatures, bugs, zoo animals and a few farm animals. (But note that there are two very similar elephants, two birds, and two butterflies, so you're really only getting 27 different animals instead of 30.) We mainly used them as markers, and they'd probably work well with paints, too, or crayons . They didn't work well with crayons, however, because some sections, like bug antennae, are so small or narrow that even a new sharp crayon won't fit. You may have the same problem with sidewalk chalk. If you consider these for children's entertainment, they will probably work well for most children over 3 years old. My 2 year old niece didn't quite understand the concept of the stencil and just doodled randomly into the sections and one of my 3 year old nieces had a bit of trouble at first because she kept tucking her marker under the flexible edges of the stencil all the time . For children who are still learning to hold stationery, a stiffer stencil is better. But any child who can more or less stay within the lines in a coloring book should have no problem with that. In any case, it helps to tape the two opposite corners of the stencil lightly with masking tape so that it does not slip during use. The kids wanted dinosaurs first. Above all, *everybody* wanted the T-Rex. Poor old Rex is well educated. I have another problem with these templates, which is that they are not square. They *look* square, but they're actually a bit rectangular, and they're incredibly difficult for me to fold neatly because I can't tell at first glance which is the long side and which is the short. And of course, they only fit in the bag they are in when stacked across from each other. I suggest finding a somewhat large gallon sized box or bag to store them in as trying to fold them neatly in a hurry is tiring.
