Review on πŸ”Š TRQ413 Torque Speakers by Planet Audio by Robert Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good replacement that adds a lot of high frequencies and takes away a lot of mid frequencies.

These are great speakers. I bought the 3.5" and installed it on my '98 Sebring with no problems. The tweeter protrudes 1/2" from the top of the speaker. You should know, I had a competition stereo back in my 20s I wanted quality sound, not bass. These speakers do their job well. I'll try to explain that sound... If you replace a set of worn paper cone speakers, you'll notice a big difference in sound. The high frequencies (treble) are much more prominent and brighter, and most of the mid-range frequencies where you normally hear vocals are significantly attenuated. This is probably due to the hard thick rubber surround. There is no bass and there shouldn't be. The speaker is undersized for that. Get it for this price You two speakers with rubber magnetic protection and a connecting cable. The wire is VERY thin and the connectors on the speaker are fragile / cardboard. Here it seems e to give some cost savings.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
