This product was purchased to help our elderly cairn terrier get on and off the couch. Despite his age, he still tries (sometimes unsuccessfully) to jump onto the sofa and I was afraid he would hurt himself. Above all, his departure is missing. I introduced him to these ladders when I could observe him and he started using them quicker than expected. He got used to the top fairly quickly but is still a bit cautious on the descent probably because he has poor eyesight and depth perception. However, he is learning, and slowly. I no longer worry about him encountering the plant while climbing up and down the furniture! Honestly, I should have bought them a while ago. I'm very impressed with how they look and how strong they are. I highly recommend this product for your small and/or aging dogs, especially those who are still a little daredevil!
