If you want to enjoy great tasting coffee from your brewing system, a carbon filter system is a must! The Omnipure filter kit was the "missing link" for smooth coffee aromas. Whenever you have a plumb line brew system, water can get stuck and stagnate in the line between brews. For this reason, most people who use systems with tanks to fill with water drain their tap water a bit before filling the tanks to get a fresher faucet performance (which is no longer possible with systems that plug into the water supply ). Thus, the presence of the Omnipure filter kit allows the water in the plumbing systems to be "cleaned" by the carbon filter system to produce a fresh cup of coffee every time it is brewed. A "must have" for plumbing in my opinion as it eliminates any bad coffee taste caused by standing water in the plumbing lines.
