Edit: After a firmware update fixed the problem described below for channel B, channel A of the gyre stopped working after a few weeks. There was no obvious reason - I just noticed one day that the current in my aquarium was less than it should be. I'm trying to update the firmware AGAIN, but there's no excuse for accidentally powering off these devices. I recommend you buy something else until Maxspect fixes this. I contacted Maxspect and their solution was to take the pumps out of my tank, send them to them and then if they find the same problem, send new ones. Who in their right mind takes their primary wave generators out of the aquarium for a week or more? FLEE from them. This is a poor quality product and even worse customer service. ***Original Review*** Overall these things are amazing, they're almost silent and they look great. I recommend them to others. Before that I had XF230 and 250 and various others (mp10wqd, mp40wqd, koralia, Icecap, etc.). Nobody was as quiet as this one. I had my old Maxspect wheels at around 70% and hated hearing them squeak. I put them in and only 10-20% they blew the old creek out of the water (no pun intended). And better yet, they were completely silent. I'm gradually building them up, but in my % to % comparison (since I have my old XFs on a different tank around the house now) they are significantly quieter.
