Review on Computer case Deepcool Matrexx 55 MESH black by Wiktor Sakowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

In fairness, all the shortcomings I have listed do not cause a desire to take away at least one star from this case. I shed a tear when I saw it for the first time, it reminded me very much of the strict old INWIN a500 case. Before this case, I was a fan of the Deepcool Tesseract SW Black and Deepcool Tesseract SW Red models. He also wrote in detail in the reviews about the first. It's a pity that in new models they began to remove the plugs for external 5.25" bays. I would gladly put my old but faithful Zalman mfc1 Plus reobass in it. Personally, I had trouble installing the Deepcool REDHAT cooling unit. The radiator from the cooler fit normally, but my RAM is non-standard in height - Patriot Memory PV416G320C6K. Even if you dismantle a small radiator comb from them (there is such a standard function), the fan installed above the dies still rested against the sidewall glass, the case width was about 1-2 mm short. I had to screw the side glass with a little effort due to a slight deflection of the substrate and the motherboard itself. But Deepcool ASSASSIN II was installed quite comfortably (see photo)

Pros
  • Very decent case for your money! Very beautiful and strict appearance, even if backlit. Mesh front! Facade glass on such buildings has completely compromised itself! If you like RGB backlighting and want to save money, then take the case version that already comes with four RGB fans in the kit - Deepcool MATREXX 55 MESH ADD-RGB 4F - this bundle + another 2 thousand, but buying additional fans separately will cost significantly more. You can change the lighting of the fans from the button on the front panel of the case, if you connect it using the built-in molex tail to the power supply connector. A good built-in set of different dynamic highlights. Although I would prefer permanent one-color ones. I do not like connectors for flash drives and buttons on the top of the block! Here they are from the front. A plus is a dust shelf that protects the power supply wires from it, and a basket for HDD devices hidden under it. But because of it, there were some inconveniences, which I will report below. Lots of room for cable management. Sufficiently thick metal even at the side metal cover. Removable plastic grill on top. Possibility to put a dropsy radiator or even additional fans under the top cover of the case. Tempered glass looks great! To be honest, competitors of this level would cost 2-3 thousand more. UP: Here's what else I found from the features in this case. If the backlight of native fans is connected to the molex of the power supply, and not to the motherboard. And when you press the front button, changing the colors and dynamics of the backlight of the fans, I used to wonder why there is no option with the backlight turned off completely. I started experimenting with this button. And found this mode! You just need to briefly hold down this button and the backlight will then turn off completely! ;)
Cons
  • As a picky user spoiled by good cases, I will describe in detail what I didn’t really like about it. Sometimes there is a marriage. On a flat table, check its geometric shape for the possibility of deformation during its transportation. Joints of planes for the presence of cracks. The mounting pads for the motherboard are screwed in very tightly. As many have already mentioned, one fastener in the kit is not enough. In other holes, the cut thread is also far from ideal. With great effort, the rear plugs for expansion cards break off. With their buildup for breaking out (and they break out into the inside of the case) - you can safely damage some elements on the mother. Because of this danger, I changed the algorithm for collecting computers in this case. First, I try on the motherboard without screwing it on, then I outline the plugs that need to be dismantled, I remove the motherboard itself from sin, and then I break them out. The retractable bar near these plugs is also not perfect in design. No indication of activity of Hdd-Sdd disks! In the dark, the front USB ports have to be found by touch! Very narrow cable entry holes for 2.5 SATA SSD drives. If the power supply has rigid power cables, it will not be easy to connect them. It's easier to connect the wires first, and then screw the drives themselves. Not a very long niche for placing a power supply with a large bundle of wires. So much the worse if the "box" of the block turns out to be non-standard, for example, longer. If it were possible to dismantle or temporarily remove the HDD basket, it would be much easier. But the basket is on fixed rivets. And what prevented you from moving the basket a little further from the feeder? It is better to dismantle the lower dust filter for the power supply immediately, it clogs very quickly, and few people clean it often enough. Single color blue power button. It would be more logical to make it at least neutral, with a white backlight. The illumination of the fans under the mesh at the place of its fold on the right side does not look very harmonious.
