Review on 15K BTU Ducted RV Air Conditioner With Heat Pump For Heating & Cooling - Quiet AC Unit For Camper, Motorhome, Trailer by Zane Myers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great unit in my review

We bought a 5th wheel that only came with 2 roof top ac units. One up front in master br and on over the kitchen living room area that is vented through the ceiling and vented to the back of the 5th wheel in the bunk house. Well the first camping trip the bunk house was hot a can be kids were sweating and we had 4 fans blowing back there. We have a roof vent in place over the bunk house with a 14x14 hole. Called manufacturer to ask if my unit was prepped for 3rd ac gave them the Vin # they said nope not prepped. So I was like oh well I will run mh own 12 Guage wire through ceiling and down through cabinet out bottom of 5th wheel and plug it into a receptical at the camp ground each time. So we took out roof vent and to our surprise 😮 there was already a 12 Guage wire ran to a j box for us. I went and looked in the breaker panel and sure enough there was a 20 amp breaker labeled 3rd ac/optional.So we have the unit installed in about 2 hours. Ran a bead of roof sealant around the top and set the unit right on top and it fit like a glove. The wireless remote is amazing and it has the thermostat built into it so we mounted the remote to the wall in the bunkhouse and it works amazing! If your rv is prepped for a 3rd ac or your replacing an existing unit this is awesome. It cools and heats really well. No thermostat wires to run. So simple. I am a swimming pool technician not an rv mechanic. But this was so easy to install. The inside unit we bought wirh it just vents the air directly into the bunk house I did not want to use the vent system as this unit is specifically cooling my kids bunkhouse. And the temperature display is right on the unit in the ceiling in a digital read out. I would highly recommend this unit. So glad the manufacturer was wrong about it not being prepped. One last thing I will say is that while we were on the roof we found 2 spots were the manufacturers cut the roof too big around 2 of the vent pipes and bare wood was showing. I sealed those up while I was up there as well. It's sad how many issues a brand new rv has right out the door. They should have better quality control.Anyway thanks for reading my review.
