Life Saver!: Remote Controls & Accessories

So, in the hottest week of summer 2016, with temperatures around 100°C every day (and humidity above 100°C), a remote control for my 2 year old old child (2014) Frigidaire's window air conditioner decides to die. A desperate search for a replacement immediately began. I found the original remote online but for $40 it will start shipping sometime in September. While looking at Revain I found this universal air conditioner remote control. Considering the price, I figured I had little to lose by trying it. The remote came quickly and in just a minute I set it up and started controlling my air conditioner. All you have to do is find your brand code in the enclosed instructions, enter it and if it works for your model you're done. I noticed that there are instructions if the codes don't work, but obviously haven't tried it. It has all the adjustment buttons of my old remote except for the temperature LED window, which to be honest I never paid any attention to. It's light because it uses a button cell instead of two AA batteries like my old one. There's even a magnetic surface on the back so you can attach it to an air conditioner or other metal surface so you don't lose it. Obviously I'm very happy with it in every way and can't see how it can be beat for the price I bought it for (less than $15). Something doesn't really disappoint this time. Great.
