How I do it: Strip both wires about 3/8 inch. Slide the wire connector onto one of the wires. Bend back the stripped portion of the wires. (Do not twist.) Carefully slide the wire connector over the bent connection so the solder is over both copper wires. Press it down with a heat gun until you see the solder melt. The solder turns from dull gray to silver as it melts. Make sure to heat shrink both ends. The connection must be reliable and have continuity.
