Hardware installation was easy and connected to my network with no problems. Installing the software and setting up the server can be a bit tricky if you don't have any knowledge of networks and how to use IP addresses and DHCP servers and what they do. You must read the instructions carefully to get all the hidden items. I just installed the driver on all my windows machines and the print server manager on one machine as instructed. If you are using DHCP to issue an IP address, the print server must have a permanent address. The network protocol must be set to TCP/IP. I have a Brother HL1250 laser printer, a Panasonic KX-P2123 dot matrix printer and a Canon BJC600e inkjet printer connected to a print server. Each printer is set to its own port. I can print to this print server from the following PC operating systems: Novell 5.0, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 98se and SuSE Linux 6.4. Installing Linux was a lot more difficult as the printer definition files had to be reconfigured, but any good Linux user should. I can do it with no problems, I'm a Linux novice. This is a reliable product. This is the best print server I've ever had. The documentation may require a bit more work.
