We have 3 different brands for a total of 5 packs of 100+. I thought a comparison test would be helpful for those who want to buy a set but are having trouble making a choice. We have 3 boys aged 7, 4 and 4 years old. 3-4 sets is what they need to be able to build big structures and not fight for figures. Magnatiles: Pros: Super expensive, great quality, but sometimes the magnets collide. Cons: $$$$$$Playmags: Pros: Half the price of Magnatiles, sturdy, works with all sets, strong magnets and great quality, great value Cons: If you buy a set with more than 118 items, there are a Many of these letters + inserts (18) are included in the count, which actually means kids get fewer magnetic pieces. Baby Hub - Pros: Lots of parts, good price. See the pieces are cracked and the kids are sure to break more. The magnets are not that strong. I don't think it was worth it. I would prefer 3-4 playmags sets and buy some bigger accessories/sets and the kids will love it. UPDATE: We got a newer set from the baby center to try out I believe in response to this post. They told me they updated them and want us to try them. The kids say they are cool, they love how many pieces they have in the set. The tiles are still thinner in the center than the Magnatiles and Playmag, but they hold up to some rough play. The magnets are ok, but I still find that they don't always stick well to other tiles. Maybe they're not meant to be combined?!? We're definitely excited for the chance to try the new set - and I think this set is definitely worth buying. At β¬50 you can't go wrong. Buy 2 sets. they must withstand normal play. BUT, they are definitely not Magnatiles and not of the same quality.
