Review on 6 Point Socket by Performance Tool, Model W32034 by Tony Wilson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The packaging is quite dangerous.

I have not used this socket but it looks good. This outlet has some of the most dangerous plastic packaging I have ever dealt with. The packaging fits snugly against the body of the outlet and will not be pulled out. There is a very small pliers imprint on the packaging, but no instructions. I unclipped some of the plastic wrapping from the outlet, but didn't remove it from the box. This packaging and the danger to consumers purchasing from this outlet is evidence of incompetence and disregard for the safety of their customers. At first I tried prying it off with a screwdriver, but sticking the screwdriver in the packaging while holding it is actually pretty dangerous. In the end I decided to remove it by heating the knife and cutting through the packaging with the heated blade, which was also dangerous. This is one of the most dangerous packaging removal operations I have ever experienced.

Pros
  • Holes for bushings are designed to reduce rounding of fasteners.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
