The matter is simple and fundamental. I like the ease of use. I love that it has a focal point for many popular proteins. If you know how to calibrate a thermometer, you shouldn't have a problem with it. This is the third thermometer I've bought in the last decade (and used countless more!) and it's my favorite of the standard analog types. something cheap and useful, take it.
