Review on 🍾 BGMAX Champagne Sealer Stopper: 3 Pack Stainless Steel Sparkling Wine Bottle Plug Set with Longer Sealing Plug – Perfect Champagne Accessories and Gift by Marc Zitnik

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent closure with 2 major problems

This is the best cork I have ever used for champagne. The longer neck and white soft vinyl or silicone seal stay tight, and a bottle left overnight stays pressurized as if you just opened it. I like the spring action that allows you to lower the neck of the cap into the bottle and press it firmly against the bottle. UPDATE: After 10 months of use I still love this cap and it continues to seal champagne bottles excellently. I also use it for wine (which I drink a lot without alcohol). So there are no failures at all for this period except for the first one. I swing the stopper gently, carefully, when necessary, not overusing it. I also use a stopper that I haven't discarded (see review below) and handle it carefully. I don't know if the manufacturer has made any changes to the product since I bought it. I recommend just wiping the stopper with a damp cloth as the retaining ring and spring on the back will rust even though the device's body is stainless steel. PROBLEM #1: Edges are sharp, sharp enough to pose a safety hazard. and must be treated with care. This can be remedied by filing the edges with a small metal file (I mean any edge your fingers can touch). I did this on two of the three stoppers and would have really preferred to do it during production. Registration is tedious. PROBLEM #2: Read other posts and realize it's falling apart quickly. That's right, and I believe the snap ring in fig 1 is in a groove in the housing. It serves to hold the seal and spring in the housing, but they can slip past the retaining ring. It's still stretchable (retaining rings are usually hardened steel), and rocking the assembly as you uncork allows the retaining ring to be pushed deep into the groove and flexed, and then the black plastic washer that the white gasket is mounted on is allowed to slip into place , as in Fig. . 3. I tried to capture it in fig. 2, but it is difficult to see tolerance. Figure 4 shows the black washer under the snap ring (as it should be). That way you can fix the stopper if it falls apart, but it will keep going. To fix this, the locking ring needs to have a smaller internal ID. Because of these two issues, I cannot recommend this device. Need a redesigned locking ring and smooth block edges and this will definitely win! (I will continue to use mine).

Cons
