Review on πŸ’‘ ALZO Spectrum Light Lumens Daylight: Unleash the Power of Natural Lighting at Any Time" by David Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sunny Saturday morning, anytime

I'm an artist - canvases, not houses. I need an indoor light source that is as close to natural daylight as possible so my color choices are accurate, consistent and not "surprised" when viewed from anywhere other than my studio. I called ALZO, which is actually a photo products manufacturer. There I spoke to Joseph (or Yosef?), a professional photographer with years of experience. He answered my questions with expertise and I felt confident that I had ordered ALZO lamps from Revain. My Revain order was delivered with the usual Revain efficiency. The bulbs are packed in separate boxes, all four boxes are packed in one outer carton. They're BIGGER than you might expect, but my app is functional, so that's not a problem. See dimensional drawing on Revain product page. The light is BRIGHT (!) and very WHITE (!) According to Joseph, 5500 degrees Kelvin is as close as possible to natural daylight (5600 K), and what I see supports that statement well. I expect to use two lightbulbs when painting; that's only 54 watts of electricity for LOTS of balanced, bright "daylight". Energy savings are greatly appreciated. If the size of the lamp is not an issue, I recommend you buy these four packs. The price per bulb is MUCH lower than competing bulbs and the quality seems good. Good value, Section I. BONUS: From what I understand, these lamps also provide the type of light used to overcome SAD (seasonal affective disorder), a type of depression that can occur during the winter months when we tend to getting too little sunlight. (actually too little vitamin D from sunlight). FYI: You can take 5,000 IU of vitamin D daily to offset this. I think this winter I will feel EVEN BETTER painting under this light source.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
