Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Park Tool Shimano/Sachs Aris/Sunrace/DNP Epoch Freewheel Remover: The Ultimate Tool for Removing Freewheels by Tim Blandin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The strongest freewheel tool ever made!

I had a very rusty and stubborn freewheel which I tried unsuccessfully for two days to remove. I've actually had several large high quality adjustable wrenches with tie rods flexing and flexing around this tool and the tool stayed intact. This only caused a slight rounding of the corners, but the tool proved quite usable. I doused the hub and freewheel in penetrating oil and let them sit overnight but it still wouldn't come off so I ended up resorting to a 2 foot pipe wrench on this tool, thinking it would destroy the tool in the process would. I was completely stunned when I finally removed the freewheel and the only downside to this tool is that the top is now slightly oval where the wrench squeezed it! The splines are fine and they are still straight where they engage the freewheel. I've already ordered another one for the store, assuming it will be destroyed, but actually it's still usable. Investing in high-quality branded tools definitely pays off!

Pros
  • Thin wall design allows use without removing cones and locknuts
Cons
  • Vulgarity
