Review on Enhance Safety with πŸ”’ Rust-Oleum 22242 1-Pound Pail ST30 Skid-Tex by Mike Cody

Worked great with epoxy floor paint

I tried the sand that comes with epoxy floor paints and didn't like the result. He left the paint with a sandpaper texture and matte finish; it would make mopping a nightmare as the dirt would get so stuck between all those millions of ultra-fine sand particles that mops couldn't remove it. Sand particles, but larger and more non-slip. Then I found and tried this Skid-tex Rust-Oleum 22242. I mixed one of the 1 pound buckets with 2 gallons of epoxy. The finish has turned out great and I now have a nice non-slip floor while retaining the best lacquer shine. Sand does not affect the quality of the paint or the chemical composition indicated on the label. However, there still seemed to be too many particles when using a full bucket of this sand. So in two of my four paint batches, I reduced the mix to 2/3 of a 1 lb bucket of two gallon paint to reduce particulates; It worked even better this way and still offered excellent slip resistance and the paint retained a good gloss.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
