With added pesticides, no longer hypoallergenic

New is not better. The altered detergent caused our family to have itchy rashes and acne on their faces. No longer hypoallergenic, this product now contains two chemical pesticides and skin allergens: methylisothiazolinone and benzoisothiazolinone. The EPA strongly cautions against skin contact in any amount, and research indicates that methylisothiazolinone is likely to be neurotoxic. In Europe, they are not allowed in products that come into contact with the skin. I wonder if the newly added preservatives are needed as bactericides. In our experience, old detergent lasts more than 2 years, even when traveling in the heat and humidity. If you're worried about contamination from flush bottle caps, add a dispenser with a pump or valve. After years of relying on this brand of this detergent to avoid the same chemicals, we are struggling to find a replacement. Many others also rely or have relied on the sun and earth for isothiazolinone-free products.

Pros
  • For use with heavy duty washing machines
Cons
  • Long delivery time
