Perfect for keeping small dogs out of strange rooms! Even my small dogs can't get through the gaps between the bars. If you have a jumper, ruthless creeper, or escape master, this is most likely not the right answer for your pet. If you don't want to attach it to either side of a door frame or other fixed spot, all you have to do is zigzag it to keep it from falling. It's simple physics. I like that it's short enough to step over without having to move it or open a gate while it's in place. It's plain bare wood, but I simply painted one white and stained the other to match my decor. There were a few spots where I decided to use a little bit of sandpaper in front of my hand, but I'm sure no one would have noticed if I hadn't. except yourself. Compared to the price of a door that is already painted and/or not that long (so not as versatile in large doors), this door is a GREAT BARGAIN!
