Review on Topeak Sidekick Wedge Black Medium by Seth Gomez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good packaging, "but " what can be seen in the photo is small. Medium size requires stand mount

This is a good backpack but note the two sizes offered, only the small can only be attached to the saddle rails and is great for dropper applications. The medium sized bag is indeed larger but not huge and would be great for bikes without a dropper but the photos on this product page are only for the small size and it's a bit deceiving. There are pictures of a medium sized sidekick wedge package (included and accurate) on Topeak's own site if you're concerned the small package might not be big enough for you. If you want it to be for a drip, you'll have to make it work with a small one. The backpack is overall well made and easy to put on and take off, but at least on my particular backpack it tilts a bit when loaded ie the "F25” mount isn't perfectly centered, or maybe it doesn't like that my multi-tool - possibly the heaviest part in my saddle pack - right next to the hole so my pack tends to zip. Street 700C versus buying a Tubolito), multi-tool, etc., or go the "tubeless patch" route, in which case the little one can have an M19 multi-tool, a Stan's dart, a CO2 cartridge + valve and a Pair of Granite Talon pick up tire levers. , along with spare chain links.
