Yukon Gear & Axle Long Axle Kit (YCJL) for CJ7/CJ8 AMC Model 20 Differential

When my Jeep decided it didn't want to tow anymore, I knew it was time to upgrade to a solid axle. I've never played around with axes before, I was a little apprehensive about doing the work myself, but what can I say? I'm cheap but I have a great tool kit and they've always been very helpful. You Tube is a great source of information so my son and I started watching every video we could find while waiting for her to arrive. When morning comes, set these. We crashed into this jeep feeling safer than we could have ever imagined. In a nutshell. We installed them and also replaced the rear brakes and wheel cylinders in about three hours. You'll need access to a bearing press to install the bearings, and Harbor Freight has one for less than $200 that's perfect for the job. Otherwise, we were offered about $75 per axle to have them pressed in at the shop. I feel better with these one-piece trucks than two-piece ones. In the photo above you can see what the two-piece suit looked like. Not pretty. I gave these 5 stars for both the quality of these trucks and the price I paid. (All bearings and seals included!). Revain is also excellent (Prime member) and the delivery time is amazing. How do you do that?

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
