Large selection of air conditioning tools and accessories

I work in the HVAC industry and we need to carefully measure the amount of gas we put into air conditioners. Good scales are only needed to get the job done. This scale has a good, heavy base. I like it because it resists movement while working. Many of the scales I have used fit in a hard carrying case (like a briefcase) and can be opened and operated from there. They open easily and start working quickly. This scale doesn't fit in a case like this. It comes in a soft case that has a few odd design touches. The double zipper opens the two longitudinal edges of the top of the case. Once opened, you need to undo the small velcro at one end. Strange. The bag has a shoulder strap with a thick and comfortable pad. Each side has pockets for accessories. The back pocket fits the full size case and can hold a spare charging hose. When the scale is removed from the case, there is a nice rubber seal at the top. The seal is about the size of a can of coolant. The wired remote control is hidden in a recess on the bottom of the device. You still have to undo the Velcro to access the remote control. The remote control is pretty easy to understand if you've used a refrigerant scale before. Instructions are in the case bag if you need them. The remote control is easy to read and to my surprise it has a backlight! This compensates for the difficulty of getting it in and out of the compartment at the bottom of the scale. The buttons are not embossed, but the print appears to be under a clear coating. I assume they won't go away. The weight goes in three places, but I'm not sure how many significant numbers. This makes it easier to microload PTACs, window units, portables, refrigerators, etc. [Note: After several weeks of fiddling with the remote, I found it more convenient to insert and remove from the bottom compartment. In fact, I like it no less] The dial has a few simple tone indicators. There are simple, non-irritating beeps just for a few things. I think it was well done. The instructions are short but very well written. I have both English and Chinese. Each corner has legs, both top and bottom. They extend above and below the front of the unit and also take pride in every edge. There is also a metal pole near the secluded cove. All this protects the remote well and sits well even on uneven surfaces. Aside from a small oddity on the case, I like these scales more and more each time. I just stick the top valve into the case so I don't have to fiddle with it. The scale slides in and out and the handles can be connected with Velcro around one of them. It's a solid, well built and well thought out device.
