Intel 14nm reached the ceiling

Broken with this processor. Aside from the 4.5GHz 6600k processor that I've been using for the last 2 years, this processor is obviously much better than the first generation 14nm processor. However, I can't say I'm blown away by the increase in gaming performance I've received. There's practically no point in going from 8700k to that 9700k. Since March of this year, I've been postponing the completion of a new PC for the z390 platform and associated 9-series chips. However, I don't feel like I would be missing out much by using the z370 and 8700k. I have a 9700k overclocked to a stable 4.9GHz across all cores at 1,250 volts per core, but I'm not lucky enough to hit 5GHz even at 1.4 volts. I will not go higher for temperature reasons. Maybe it's my chip and the silicon lottery isn't in my favor. Temperatures are quite decent for packaged performance. With my H150i Pro 360mm AIO and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, my CPU runs at around 30C at 23C room temperature. My 6600k ran at 24C with Hyper 212 evo. After 30 minutes on Prime95 I have a maximum temperature of around 80C and it won't go up after further extended testing.
