Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro (Blue) - Officially Licensed Ergonomic Controller for Handheld Mode - Nintendo Switch by Roger Alexander

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Hard plastic, painful plastic stitching and a poor quality D-pad ruin an otherwise decent controller

Overall this would be a good controller if there weren't some pretty big drawbacks. In this review I will focus on the cons as they really overshadow the overall user experience. Sorted from worst to least bad: - Where the plastic case connects, there's a seam that meets the underside of your palm, right where a lot of the contacts are. It hurts a lot after a few minutes. This is a major design flaw that is very noticeable and I don't understand how the designers approved the controller in this state. You can see it in the picture attached to my review. The crosspiece sucks; rattles and gently pressed. The case is made of very hard plastic and in my opinion too light. This makes the controller look like a cheap scratching post toy. A few positives: With the exception of the crappy directional pad, the rest of the buttons and joysticks feel good, click accurately and I had no trouble drifting. . The controller didn't use too much battery either; I didn't notice a huge difference in battery life between them and the stock joycons. TLDR: Painful plastic seam digging into palm (see image), D-Pad sucks, other controller buttons/joysticks are fine.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
