Works with Raspberry Pi Model 4B

I bought this adapter (VGA Female to Micro HDMI Male) specifically to connect an old VGA monitor to a Raspberry Pi Model 4B. I tried the adapter with 3 different old monitors. Two worked with no problems after a reboot to reset permission. One of the working monitors had built-in speakers. The speakers worked as expected when using the adapter's audio port. The remaining monitor, a KDS manufactured in 2001, reported that the horizontal frequency was out of range. The error message states that the horizontal frequency limit for the monitor is 60kHz and the input signal is 69.7kHz. The horizontal frequency can be adjusted in the Rpi display settings or set via an adapter, I have not investigated the issue. My adapter has been working for a few days. He appears to have survived infant mortality. If it suddenly fails I will update this review. Basically I am satisfied with the product.

Pros
  • USB to VGA Adapter
Cons
  • Requires Socket
